MDF

Medium-density fiberboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood and softwood residuals into wood fibers. It is combined with resin or wax to form flat panels by applying high temperature and pressure. MDF represents an excellent building material as it can be securely joined with screws and nails with minimal chances of fracturing.

Unlike most of its alternatives, such as particleboard or hardboard, medium-density fiberboard (MDF) offers superior quality.

CHIPBOARD

Chipboard also known as particleboard is a multi-purpose material and one of the most widely used panels. It is wood/bagasse based product manufactured from wood/bagasse chip particles and a synthetic binding resin. We form the board in a press using heat and pressure. Our finished products are the laminated chipboards that are available in various designs.

LAMINATIONS

Chipboard and MDF are beautified with lamination. We have several design overlays that are applied to the finished product. It cannot be delaminated even after rough handling. The laminated chipboards and MDF are available in different sizes. Refer to product specifications.

Do’s and Don’ts of Interior Designing

Everyone wants their home to be comfortable and appealing, whether you are living in an apartment or a house. A little research can make it easy for you to choose the best products and ideas which can enhance your space. We have made this struggle easy for you as you can totally revamp your homes by simply keeping in mind these tips:

Do’s

Come Up With Your Own Ideas

Choose what suits your requirements and the setting that suits your family the most. Be practical and opt for furniture and colors that actually let you feel more comfortable. Make sure the color and textures are easy for you to maintain.

Know the Color Psychology

Colors are one of the most primary things to consider while revamping your space. Study color psychology and do not try to match everything. Use creative combinations and contrast colors that keep every corner of your home bright and cozy. NU Board offers a wide range of attractive shades and textures of laminated sheets to match your requirements.

Wrap Up Well

Try to use laminated furniture as it is less costly and comes with easy maintenance. You can choose from a wide range of eye-catching lamination designs and textures at NU Board, which are not only water-resistant but also termite-proof and crack-free. Lamination enhances the overall look of your home especially the kitchen and living room. Your choice of lamination should also depend on its functionality. If your laminate needs are for an area that is more prone to wear and tear, you will want to use a high-pressure laminate. Also, it is advisable to use laminate which is anti-fingerprint in spaces that are likely to have more frequent physical interaction like shelves, cabinets, etc.

Pay Attention to the Walls

Amp up your walls with decent laminated fixtures or wallpapers. Let a large painting be the centerpiece of one of your living room walls and watch its charm unfold. A decent piece of art always grabs the attention of the guests. Also, you can use some bold colored lamination with the paintings to enhance the view of your living room.

Don’ts

Trim on lightening budget

Make sure your space has adequate lighting. Use the right weightage of natural and artificial light so that you don’t miss out on the corners.

Forget About Seating

Create walkways around your furniture so it is convenient for your guests to move around. This means not only establishing a path to and from the seating area, but also a separation from the rest of the room. If your seating area has enough space, consider including some additional, moveable seating for when guests arrive.

Over-Match Furniture and Textiles

Homeowners should avoid being too matchy. Instead of matching your furniture with fabrics might turn your living space too boring. Create a related space with complimenting colors, designs, textures, and patterns.

Spending Money without Planning

Before going shopping keep in mind what exactly you are looking for and make a list of measurements. Do not engage in impulse buying. Spend more on items that will be in your use rather than simply overwhelm your space with decorative pieces only. Spend wisely on products that are there to last rather than paying even higher cost in their wear and tear.

Let’s plant for Pakistan. #EkQadamPakistanKelie

Freedom begins at home when the family comes together for each other and for the nation. This Independence Day, NU Board celebrates with its family by planting trees to build a greener and cleaner Pakistan.
We are forerunners in the industry because we have strived bravely against the odds and stood strong despite challenges. This Independence Day, let us remember the will with which we carved our legacy.

As we progress into the month of August, our hearts and minds are engulfed with waves of patriotic zeal and fervor. This 14th August we celebrate our 74th Independence Day, commemorating the creation of our nation, full of promise, growth and tolerance.
This year, we plan to celebrate our Independence Day with a mission to understand the most severe problems affecting our country and playing our part to resolve them. One such issue is widespread deforestation. As of right now, Pakistan has roughly 5 trees per capita compared to the world average of 422 trees. Our forest cover is among the lowest in the world – about 5% of the land, compared with a global average of 31%. Knowing the criticality and urgency related to climate change, where Pakistan is among the six countries that face the biggest impact from climate change and which has not only impacted the food security of this country but also disrupted the value chains for food and beverage sector but also disturbed the climatic change. we have to reassess our priorities and work towards a sustainable Pakistan. Therefore, this Independence Day, we have collaborated with Trash It to encourage you all towards plantation drive. NU Board is sowing a seed of hope by sending out the seeds, fertilizer, and pots to grow plants. We believe in sustainability by recycling the sugarcane wastage for the production of our products known as Baggase Boards.

We understand it’s a small drop in the bucket, but real and lasting change only occurs in small increments. And we hope to do our part.

This drive is our slight action of giving back to our nation, the only place we can truly call our own. It is said, that when we plant a seed, we plant a hope. So let’s plant hopes for a healthier, greener, and cleaner Pakistan for us and for our generations to follow.

Azadi Mubarak!
Pakistan Zindabad.

FUN FACTS THAT YOU NEVER KNEW ABOUT MDF

Six ways to add color to your living space

In this fast pace of life, not everyone has the time or the money for a full makeover of their living space. However, here are some of the creative ways to freshen up your space to breathe new life into a living room purely with the use of color.

Add a punch of color by accenting one wall of your living room with a coat of paint. Look for a niche to add extra color, or choose a larger wall that will get noticed. Pick a bold, contrasting color from a fabric in your living room. Or, go for a subtle accent by painting the wall in the same color family, but a tone darker than the rest of your walls.

Add bursts of color with strategically placed and well-chosen toss pillows. Choose solids for floral furnishings, patterned pillows for solid pieces, or mix and match patterns for a dazzling array of color. Have fun with experimenting with patterns, and add in a solid to soften the look if you prefer.

Perhaps the easiest and most versatile means of adding a touch of color to your space, is simply the addition of bright, colorful flowers. Whether an ornate arrangement or a simple grouping, a vase or large bowl of flowers can instantly transform your space. And what’s more, you can change your flower colors on a regular basis and according to the season.

Nature has the most glorious colors to add to your living space. Choose greenery that’s meant to thrive in indoor low-lighting conditions.

A new lamp, revamping a lamp, or just updating a shade adds color and personality into a living room. For noticeable pops of color, add a pair of lamps flanking a piece of art or furniture.

Modern living room colors and patterns partner to infuse flair into this living room. A combination of navy, aqua, and mustard yellow make for a relaxing yet vibrant color palette.

GUIDE TO PROTECT YOUR WOODEN FURNITURE

Quality wood furniture can last a lifetime and is often a treasured heirloom, passed down through multiple generations. Still, even the highest quality wood is susceptible to scratches and abrasions if not properly cared for.
When purchasing furniture, it’s always a good idea to ask for specific cleaning and care instructions. For furnishings already in your home, here are 10 tips to keep the wood looking its best for many generations to come.

1- Care a Little Extra

To avoid rings and heat damage, always use coasters when setting glasses or mugs on wood tables, and never place hot food directly on them without the protection of a trivet or potholder.

2- Avoid Environmental Damage

Sunlight, heat and other environmental factors can wreak havoc on your fine wood. Don’t place valuable furniture in front of uncovered windows, vents or fireplaces, as the light and heat can damage and fade the wood.

3- Clean the dust

No one really likes to dust, but the chore is one of the best ways to take care of your furniture. Frequent dusting keeps this build-up from happening.

4- Keep Your Wood Clean

Sometimes dusting isn’t enough and you’ll find it necessary to clean your wood furniture. Never use all-purpose cleaners, which can cause damage to the finish.

5- Remove Tough Stains

Despite your best efforts, sometimes the inevitable happens and your beautiful wood furniture gets stained. No matter what kind of stain you have, be sure to clean it as quickly as possible — the longer it sits, the harder it will be to remove.
Taking proper care of your wood furniture isn’t hard or even that time-consuming, and the reward for your effort will be a home filled with beautiful wood furniture that looks and feels as good as the day you got it — now and for years to come.

DESIGN A HOME THAT REFLECTS YOUR PERSONALITY

The first question were commonly presented upon hiring an interior expert is –

What do you envision to be your dream home”?

For most of us, it’s what represents our personality in the most direct way. Your personality dictates every aspect when it comes to design – the right colours, fabric, patterns. What feels right for you may not feel dreamy for someone else. Let’s break it down and get you one step closer to finding the right fit for you.

This personality type is optimistic, trusting, and easy going. and #NuBoard suggests that Peacekeepers are most likely drawn to clean lines, order and minimalism.

“You don’t have the space in your life for any clutter or negative vibes that come with it.”

As for must-haves for this personality type- NU Board thinks simple and versatile furniture pieces are the most essential. Think along the lines of plants, a neutral colour palette and open spaces to help you unwind.

Free-Spirit types are drawn to art, beauty, and nature. They are likely highly imaginative and creative and aren’t afraid to express themselves. According to our experts, such personalities can be expressed through eclectic decor that combines modern and vintage pieces with decor that tells their own unique story. The nomadic style involves mixing different cultures is great for free spirited personality types. Cooler tones, one-of-a-kind pieces and ethno inspired prints are all great picks for this personality type. Think boho-chic.

The Social Butterfly isn’t afraid of a little attention, and that translates in their home decor as well. Think glam styles like Old Hollywood: Bold colours, sumptuous fabrics, metallic touches, and perhaps even a little animal print.

“This style feels familiarly classic but can be made luxurious no matter the budget.”

Remember, social butterflies can benefit from having large seating spaces because they love to host and are entertainers by nature. Mid-century, modern designs are great for such personality types. We also recommend to invest in a major décor piece and funky furniture finds. A quiet office space is also crucial for social butterflies – so they can put their capabilities to work.
